Facilities and Operations Manager
Meierotto Jewelers is Kansas City’s leading jewelry store. We carry a great selection of diamonds and jewelry, watches including the top designer brands! We are located just minutes north of downtown Kansas City.
We are actively searching for a Facilities and Operations Manager to join our team. A successful candidate must be a hands-on, proactive team player with acute attention to detail. This full-time position is responsible for taking a proactive approach to ensure that the business operates smoothly with no unexpected downtime. The ideal candidate for this position is honest, works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented and has excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operation of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• Hire vendors and complete contract negotiations
• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program, including preventive maintenance schedules and ongoing repairs
• Manage and coordinate maintenance staff, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and within a timely manner
• Maintain all necessary documentation and records pertaining to maintenance and repairs, including work orders, purchase orders, and invoices
• Ensure that the building meet all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including fire codes, building codes, and environmental regulations
• Support the operation of the business including physical facilities, records management, equipment, technology and payment platforms
• Perform repairs around the building, interior and exterior, when a specialist is not required
• Apply computer security updates, and troubleshoot printers, computers and basic network issues
• Maintain adequate supplies inventory and order as necessary
• Maintain and respond to third party and government notices and requests including inspections, census, tax, employment and payroll
• Manage compliance with applicable laws and reporting and record maintenance requirements
• Other administrative and clerical duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in building operations, facilities management, or a related field
• Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems
• Strong leadership, ownership mentality, and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of maintenance staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address maintenance and operational issues quickly and efficiently
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements, including fire codes, building codes, and environmental regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and days the store is closed, as needed
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
This is a full-time position and will be located on site with no option to perform tasks remote. Our typical 5-day work week is Tuesday-Saturday and we are closed between Christmas and New Years and most holidays.
